A barge carrying 80,000 gallons of light crude oil struck a railroad bridge at Vicksburg, Mississippi . An oily sheen was reported  up to three miles down river and collection booms were deployed, the amount of oil spilled is unknown.

The accident was reported at 1:15 am and resulted in a traffic closure within eight miles of the scene. A second barge was damaged and could have made contact with the bridge or leaking barge. New York Times has additional details.
